It’s ya girl, E-dawg

Hey hey hey,

I am going to get right to it today with a guest post from my mother dearest! And yes, she is my mother, not my sister and to all of those that like to tell her we look like sisters.. you’re the worst. Ellen has a special post to celebrate Mother’s Day by bringing you some of the best advice she now knows as a mama. And then after her novel, I will show you some Mommy’s Day gift ideas since I am sure you still haven’t gotten her anything.

A word from mi madre-

All About that Mom Life:

Five things I wish I knew then that I know now:

  1. Dr. Spock (Google It! ;)) was right!

That guy…spoke to me!! Dr. Spock was unequivocally my generation’s (insert any other top parenting book title here!) and knew his SHIT, even when I didn’t know mine! He gave me tough love advice and the confidence I needed to make hard parenting decisions (e.g.., will my kids be forever scarred if I step away from their demanding little faces while I take a “time out” in the other room?!).

  1. I MISS my littles!

Watching them grow into amazing, confident, self-sufficient adults is truly amazing and overwhelmingly satisfying, BUT I MISS THEM and want to go back in time and hold them and love on them just a little while longer! We made so many memories, but I took that time for granted and I want it back!

*Note from Ciera: Obviously I am the cutest one starting us off. :)*

But these cuties help you remember your kids as babies and become the best parts of them too!

  1. Momming was actually easier when they were little!

Those cute little buggers could be coaxed with a smile (or a strongly worded whisper) into good behavior or a smart decision, now they are on to me and see me coming a mile away! Now I am reduced to light-hearted, well placed suggestions!

  1. I could get Gemma-level (Sons of Anarchy😉), mama-bear, so on another level crazy protective over my kids – then and now!

Who knew the love could be so fierce?

  1. I will never be the same…

“Making the decision to have a child – it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” -Elizabeth Stone

Being a mom has changed me forever. It is my proudest accomplishment and the hardest, most challenging moments of my life – I wouldn’t change a single minute!

I love them to the moon and back and then some!

And here are some gift ideas for the best lady in your life!!

Well mom, I know you didn’t type it out because you didn’t want to hurt their feelings, but I will always know that I am your favorite child and subsequently you are my favorite mom. 🙂 We love you lots and to the moon and back and a lot of other ways too! Happy Mother’s Day, Burny. <3 (don’t kill me for that one).

Xo, Ciera
