Happy Friday! Here is my first of many installments for the greatest holiday gift giving experience of all time.. and maybe receiving??
I decided to dedicate my first one to the hardest person to shop for.. someone like me. đ Now do I take pride in being overly difficult to purchase something for? Maybe a little. BUT I am here to take the guess work out of it for you and guarantee you find the perfect gift for anyone and everyone out there. To shop the collage, just hover over the specific item and click the ‘plus’ to follow the link. Super easy and simple just like that.
I hope you enjoy, and happy gifting.
To shop anything in the carousel, just click the photo and it will take you right where you need to be. đ
Upon reading the title, you probably thought to yourself, “False, I have never once thought that.” But I am here to change your mind. I was also just like you once, and never thought twice about some red thigh-high boots.. Until the day when I saw Halsey, the most perfect woman ever, wearing the most beautiful pair at her concert in November. Now let me tell ya, I immediately decided I had to have a pair. Let me also tell ya that “red thigh-highs” does not yield a whole lot of options on the world wide interweb.
So after a whole lot of searching, I finally came across a contender, which was a suede pair online at Nordstrom. I was skeptical at first, but I happened to find them in person at a Nordstrom in California.. It was easy to say they were love at first sight and had to be mine. But being that I am not the queen of practical clothing purchases, I got those suckers home and had to do some real brainstorming. Considering I don’t plan on going on any world tours anytime soon, these boots had to be worn elsewhere.
Now I know, these boots are a lot. I don’t deny that. And they probably wouldn’t be your first thought for Christmas attire.. but I am here advocating for those who are trying to be the fiercest one in their Grandma’s dining room on December 25th. Children close your eyes for this part, these boots are made for bad bitches, so you gotta own ’em. These boots are sights to be seen, so you can also wear them for your next night out on the town, and do some major stompin’.
Your eyes just aren’t quite ready yet to see them, and I need to discuss the rest of the outfit so you all don’t start to think I am obsessed with a shoe.. (although I am) But here we are at the top. I am going to start by saying I love stripes. I love them a lot. And I love black & white pattern to balance out a bright shoe or accessory. This Free People top is super soft and so so cute. I about die every time I see the adorable ruffled trumpet sleeves. It also has a ruffled “lettuce” hem, but I tucked it in for a different type of look. Also beware of these sleeves, I accidentally dipped them in at least 4 different food groups on Thanksgiving. (this color is sold out, but I linked the other option)
Just a little sneak peek since I still don’t think you are ready for them. And now we can talk about the skirt. So this little fella is also Free People, and at one time was a steal at Macys. Look out for sales people! This skirt is a black mini with a cute front-side zipper detail and yes, the zipper does work. It is just the right length, and super stretchy to account for however many cinnamon rolls and mashed potatoes you eat on Christmas. It comes in so many other colors and patterns and can easily be dressed up or down.
Brittany would be very proud because I am about to use a Taylor Swift song reference.. “Are you Ready for it?”
Sorry that reference was so dorky, I am embarrassing, someone take this blog away from me. Just kidding. So here we are, we have finally made it to the cutest boots you will ever lay eyes on. They’re red. They’re (fake) suede. They’re thigh-high. They’re even on sale. Need I say more? I definitely could, but I probably shouldn’t because I am a ramblin’ woman. I will just leave you with a few more pictures of these precious babies. (also, they are a little wide at the thigh, but stay up just fine with a long pair of socks underneath)
First thing: thank you all for the love for Justin’s guest post on Tuesday.. that boy thinks he’s a damn celebrity now. So if we could all begin to remind him that he’s not THAT great to bring him down a couple pegs, that would be cool! It’s always good to break him down before building back up. đ Also, he did acknowledge that this post writing thing is a lot harder than he anticipated, so I wouldnât expect any more guest posts from him anytime soon.. heâs exhausted. Second thing: if you ever want to shop anything on my blog, or find out where it’s from, click the blue underlined text (or the photo in gift guides) and it will bring you to the direct link! Third thing: 18 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS. My goodness, less than three weeks and my favorite time of year will be over.  Fourth thing: buying Christmas presents is exhausting, especially if you are stuck on that one person who already has everything/will buy whatever she wants by the time Christmas comes around.
If I am being honest, I am most definitely that difficult person you dread shopping for. First of all, I hate surprises, so I would much rather you tell me what is coming my way, and I can then mentally prepare my reaction. Trust me, you don’t want to see my real reaction if you don’t warn me beforehand that I am getting an ice scraper.. Second, if I want it, I buy it. It is really that simple. I am not much of a gal that can patiently wait, so if I ever tell you I want a cute new sweater at dinner, just know that shortly after sharing this information with you, I already went to the bathroom to order it on my phone, and you’re now out of a gift idea.
Soooo if you are currently wondering whether or not you should get that difficult person a candle for the 6th year in a row, I am here to tell you NO. I am also here to help you all with some gift ideas for the girl that literally has everything. These gifts are perfect for when you have officially run out ideas and want to get them something that they never even knew they need! And even more conveniently, you can get all of these things in one spot, Nordstrom! Here we go!
Also to anyone currently wondering, this guide can double as my Christmas list if you’ve been searching for the perfect thing to get me… if I don’t already buy it all right after writing this post.
